who makes the intercooler/radiator combo

I saw on someones website a while ago that someone was making an intercooler/radiator combo kit that mounted in a V configuration so that niether the intercooler or radiator were blocking each other of air. If you opened the hood the intercooler was at the top of the V configuration and sat at about a 45* angle. Anyone know where I saw this...It seems like a great idea...

hey thanks, It sure seems like a great idea to me. You are not blocking air from either very vital components.

That's correct, it's really an ingenious design, I'm surprised someone didn't come up with it sooner. Only problem is that it costs a grip. Do a search for V-mount, you should be able to find many many testimonials from people who own it, I honestly haven't heard a bad thing about it yet.

I just looked at the set-up and it isnt the one I saw a while ago but it is the same set-up. The only difference in the kit I saw was that it had side plates that directed the air directly to the intercooler/radiator, thus not allowing any air to escape off to the sides...

With the use of fans to create a vacuum you wont have any problems with air escaping to the sides, even if you did you could still use some basic sheetmetal and make your own, it wouldn't be that hard.

As far as I know the RE kit is the only one available. There are other people who have done it (the orange A-spec car comes to mind) but they are mostly custom set-ups.

That's not a V-mount, that's the CWC SMIC and intake. Damn nice set-up though.

Not to take anything away from Chuck (Rotaryextreme), but somebody did - Knightsport had this design for the last couple years (which Chuck based his design off of), and there are similar designs from one or two other Japanese shops. Chuck's a little less expensive though, IIRC.
