Who makes the best gauges?

eh, my car came with this collumn mounted vac/boost gauge and its from pettit racing bu the gauge itself is autometer...it sucks...the idle vac is off by 5. i connected a real vac gauge right to the manifold and it showed like 16 inhg and my gauge on the collumn was showing 10. what are the most accurate gauges you can buy, analog or digital, that fit that thing..loosk to be a what..35 mm or somethin?

Autometers are usually pretty accurate, make sure that you don't have a pinched line where you have it running through the body of the car.

Are you serious?? Autometer gauges are usually off and not accurate... Defi gauges is pretty accurate on my part.

i have to second that autometer gauges, in general, lack accuracy. i dont know why they are so popular. they're not even cheap. i onlt like the cobalt seriesas it is and those are like atleast 150 each

Actually, who makes both quality gauges and gauges that are backlit with amber lighitng that matches factory gauge lighting? I like the collumn mount with the amber light now cause it looks factory.

I have the Greddy V2 Boost gauge in a column mount and it matches the stock ones perfectly. It is the newer series and and reads in pounds not bars.

The above mentioned ones are all good. I use all Defi gauges and one innovative wideband gauge. Also check out prosportgauges.com. They match the stock gauge color, are pretty inexpensive, and are advertised as being the most accurate.

There's a debate about whether Autometer gauges are accurate, but I think the higher end models are much better than the cheap ones.

I have an Autometer Ultra-Lite mechanical boost gauge that went from +.5psi off when NEW, to now about +1.5psi off.

It's ridiculous.

I'm using AC gauges, they are nice-looking and both boost pressure and voltmeter gauge are very accurate.
I also have 2 autometer water and oil temps, but I've not installed them yet...

Ive had Autometer and Defi BF. Although the Defis are a lot more $$$ they are well worth every penny. The daisy chain feature made the hookup a piece of cake.
