Where would the FD be without the internet?

It seems that the best place to find out about the FD is on line. How to's, vendors, good repair shops, vehicle history, finding a good used one etc. So without the internet would the FD be doomed? From my own perspective I would have never found mine (it was in NC with under 34K miles on it) and would never have been able to make many upgrades/repairs myself.

Makes me want to vote for Al Gore...NOT!

I found my FD at a local dealership. Paid a decent price but it was in EXCELLENT condition. So, to answer one part of your question NO I didn't need the internet to find an FD.

As far as maintaining/modding it the internet is probably the single best resource available to any owner. I'm ALMOST positive I would've screwed up somewhere down the line had it not been for this forum. As long as you do your research you can't/shouldn't go wrong.

the forum has been a big help to me. I've got a lot of good advice and some great deals on parts. I don't think I would be as happy as I am with the car If it wasn't for the help I've received from the club.

i think its hit or miss, the forum has been a HUGE help to me, but also their has been some mis-information on how-to's that have really screwed up my car. I also have been told part numbers that werent the right numbers when going to order, so I think their is a lot of good info once you sort through the junk

I ordered the FD on the internet

Got the car loan for the FD on the internet

Got the car insurance for the FD on the internet

Ordered all my parts for the FD on the internet

Got reams and reams of helpful advice for the FD on the internet

So yeah, without it, I would have probably brought a crapper, stuck a full exhaust on with standard ecu, blown the engine, moaned how rotaries are unreliable, then bought a supra or something

My job depends on the Internet. My FD depends on the job.

Best thing is the help from other forum members who know what they're talking about instead of the cr*p i'd get from some shops.

Fds would have become the next Chevy Vega or even a Yugo without the Internet. Lack of resources and lack of information would have left far more of them in junkyards and up on blocks in owners' back yards.

in that hands of owners who wont bastardize the car with meaningless and fugly "mods" and we wont have so many wrecked FDs and actually will be tastefully "upgraded" and cared for by those who dont like the movie and/or those who know better than to be "RICERs"

If it was'nt for the internet, most of us FD owners would still be driving one of the fastest, best handling cars ever seen for the money, and have about 25K in the savings, that is not there now.
