Where will you and your FD be in a Decade?

These cars may not seem like it, but they're actually getting pretty old. What are you plans with your car in the next 10 years?

Do you firmly believe you will keep it? Will your driving style with the car change? Do you think the car will become rarer and be worth more? Why?

I will absolutely keep it, it will look pretty similar to what it does now. I have 95% of the performance mods that I want/need done already. The only things that may happen are a '99 spec front end, RE-Amemiya rear diffuser and a re paint, maybe some different wheels as well.

It will be SOLD thats for sure. In 10 years I';ll be 37 years old. I don't think I'd keep a car that long. **** breaks down every minute.

I may not keep my current car(although at this rate it probably still wont be running in a decade ) but I will always have a fd. Hopefully I will run across a nice deal on a 94 or 95 white fd or a silver R2. Whenever I end up with one of those will be the day I know I have the fd I will keep forever.

The only way I ever afforded an FD is waiting for 10 years after they stopped importing them.

I'll probably be in a used GTR or Exige.

To keep improving on what I have now. Make it faster and even more reliable and enjoy it around town, not a full track only car.

Absolutely, one of the reasons I bought another home was for a garage for the FD.

Probably a little, maybe less drag racing as I did last year.

Only the ones that are not modified will be worth more, as they are today. I have seen some really tastefully modded FDs have a hard time selling. I have owned a number of FDs and always paid more for the clean, low mileage stock ones rather than buying the modified ones.

I could really care less how much they are worth since I don't plan on selling.

My baby and I will still be together, my plans are to re paint the entire car and replace or make all the parts look new. i want my car to be a true performer and run like a champ so that when it comes time i will pass it on. i also want to make it the absolute way i want it to with a fully polished engine bay a big gt42 or GT55R turbo. along with new carpet inside new re foamed and re covered seats. all the panels will look new and. it will STILL TURN HEADS AS A 26 YEAR OLD CAR!!!.

I agree with rx7rcer09. If I am still going the car will be too. Of course I am a few months from 60. If I go the car goes to my son. It is kept in storage most of the time but still needs some interior work. Leather seats are going esp. on drivers side but otherwise looks ok. Paint for sure. Only have 60,500 on it. It is still a great car with classic lines.

My intention now is to never sell it.

But things change, people change, car taste change so you never know.

However if i have to actually "REPLACE" the FD, it will be upgraded substantially. (viper, turbo porsche, perhaps even a lambo gallaro which is dead cheap right now).

But my other intention is to ADD to the FD, not replace it.

That is funny!

I know yours will still be sitting in your garage, Eric!! The mileage on mine will be through the roof so its future is uncertain.

Considering how old I am, that doesn't scare me.

Accumulate a parts car if given the opportunity. Maintain mine and enjoy it as I do now.

No. Taking care of my kid's college tuition and other family obligations are a priority before I retire. But if my *** doesn't get too big to squeeze in, yes. In a perfect world, it would set next to a yellow Z06.

Nah, I already drive like an old fart.

Yes, but that doesn't really matter to me. There are way better investments IMO.

Because of some rarity, classic looks, high performance and eventually nastalgia with a certain segment.

I will certainly have it. In 10 years I will most likely return the exterior back to stock for the vintage look

Though I doubt my HP will be increased (400 RWHP is enough for me) but I'm sure it will have nifty new performance gadgets.

damn... I'll be old by then

I have had the same modification plan (restore to fully mint condition plus JDM front and 400 whp sequential M2 twins) since I bought the car 4 1/2 years ago. When I finish (probably in 2 years), I will most likely get bored with it and sell.

I'll likely still have mine. I don't owe anything (but insurance) on it so it's not a financial drain at all, never has been (bought it in full, with cash).

My performance/go-fast mods are pretty much all done now (estimated 401rwhp on a mustang dyno) so it will only be exterior and suspension mods that I'll "upgrade" from here. I'll have a (tasteful) widebody rear and complete, high end, repaint by this time next year, A-Spec front and probable GTII wing. My current 7 will more than likely be retired in 10 years (I've got to start thinking about a family eventually..), only coming out for pretty weekends and occasional track days. I'll have a DD to take the rigors of day to day life, and possibly another FD, in stock form, for the more common weekend/mid-week play times.

I'm not really worried about resale value, since I *really* wouldn't consider letting mine go for much below 30k anyway (how many fully reliable 400+rwhp Sequential FDs with zero replica parts do you see around?)

I thought long and hard wether to sell mine, but i know for a fact i'll regret it soon after. I'll lose too much money selling it right now and im gonna need a hobby because i'll be 39 and my daughter will be 10 by then, so i'll get her to help me fix it up in the garage lol

I want to track the car and enter it into official races. It's weird cus i've had mine for 5 years this coming april, and i've only drove about 6,000 miles in all these years. It hasn't moved in over a year, but everytime i sit in it, i'm iching to take it for a drive and all the 'new car' excitment overcomes me again.

I'm getting older every day too. Aging like fine wine I am.

10 years from now it might finally have a new paint job and maybe a stock hood with custom hood vents.

It might also have a normally aspirated 20B.

Hell yes. Unless I somehow do something stupid and become pennyless and even then I might just live in it.

That always changes as you get older. I'll probably continue to use it as a fun weekend car that sees as many track days as I can do.

I think so. Maybe not by a huge amount but I don't think it will depreciate too much.

Almost 13 Years Now...

Since I have had mine for almost 13 years now, I highly doubt that I would part with it in another 10 years. Plus, I have to have something to wrench on with my newborn...

Like Gordon stated, a beautiful car that will always be beautiful (no matter what else is on the road)!
