Stock twins are only good for around 350rwhp. in order to acheive your goal, you'll need to convert your FD to a single turbo, with supporting mods such as injectors, ECU, ignition etc.. hope that helps!

yes, yes it does... thanks... I'm just trying to make things make sense. Love the car but i feel like it takes forever to boost...something might just be wrong.

By the way...whats the stock HP on an R1 anyway?

400whp in these cars is a butt load.. how much hp do you have right now?? if you add some bolt ons and port your motor your stock twins might just be enough to keep a smile on ur face.. heck im going to run my twins until i feel im ready for a single! and got the money on hand to go that way!

if your car takes forever to boost there must be something wrong, you should be making boost from 2k rpm + with stock sequential twins!
i get 0.8 bar at 2krpm..

make sure your car is in top shape before making any mods. or any problems will make themselves known after some mods.

always start with a good baseline. and get a compression test to make sure the motor is healthy

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...1?post=2819723

and use search, this is like 3000 post i see with this question :]

if i was you (im still trying to get my car done- i want to push 360 on stock twins - still got some mods to do) i would start like that(i have done it nearly from the end but now at least i know where would be the best to start):

-boost gauge
-ECU
-intakes
-downpipe
-midpipe
-catback
-IC
-radiator
-efini y-pipe
-water pump

then u can remove ur A/C,Air pump, get some lightweight pulleys and get it all nicely mapped

Mod 1: boost gauge. No point tearing out all the stock stuff if it has a simple problem that can be easily found and fixed.

I didn't see anything in your post about an upgraded ECU. You are seriously playing with fire (and when I say fire, I mean blown motor) if you already upgraded your exhust and intake and have not upgraded your computer.

If you have just done an intake and cat-back, you should be ok but if you have added a down-pipe and/or mid-pipe in addition to the above two mentioned mods with no ecu upgrade, it won't be too long before you need a motor. Your car will go lean with these upgrades with out an ecu upgrade because the stock ecu won't compensate for the additional air flow.

Get a piggy back ecu or a stand alone before you do anything else power wise.

ThanX everyone here is what the car has under the hood in terms of exhaust and intake.

Exhaust is 3" downpipe back to tip...no cat in the middle and yes its loud as hell. I need to check the ecu as I bought the car with a few upgrades already on it. I've also noticed that when I go to boost I leave a white puff behind me and that tells me that I might have a bad turbo and i may only be running on 1... Not really sure how to go about testing it besides going to a dyno... Any suggestions please let me know. Later

Get a boost gauge as suggested and see if you have a healthy boost pattern. Twins should spool VERY QUICKLY and you should get a kick at ~4500 RPM as the second turbo comes on. Max power only comes after the secondary kicks in when both turbo's are fully working.

A cheap mod to do would be to get a Petit ECU and run 12 pounds of boost assuming you don't already have some better ECU. Of course make sure you have all the reliability mods done which you can check the FAQ for this.

You need to figure out how much boost the car is producing and what ECU and fuel mods are in place.

Full exhaust with no cats will greatly increase boost, and unless the proper mods are in place it will quickly exceed the response of any stock or reflashed ECU. Result is a blown engine.

Before you start trying to make 400whp you need to start making your car run correctly. Simple as that.

And get rid of the free-flow mid pipe! Put a stocker or high flow cat in there.

Ok got a Boost gauge and i'm seeing a steady max of 7psi. I'll be on the highway and hit it and all I get is 7... Other than that I still leave a REDICULOUS trail of dirty smoke... Looks like a mix of black and white...

Any suggestions since im only pinning 7psi?

Good link. I used it myself plenty of times. The FAQ thread also lays it out pretty easily. Go here and scroll down and spend time reading.

sounds like you might not have a restricter pill in the wastegate vacuum line.
better check the prespool line for a restricter also.
search for restricter pills...
