Try ebay. I got mine this summer from NC with 34K on it, in mint condition. Dont limit your search to local fds. A 500 mile trip to get the car you want is worth it in the long run...

Be sure you read the ad carefully... I doubt there are 'quite a few' with less than 50k miles for sale right now... when I was in the market, I noticed a LOT of the ads are have lower mileage listed than what it really has. In the 'mileage field' the seller listed 50,000 & explained in the listing later that it was 50,000 miles on the engine & 120k miles on the body. I saw this happening frequently.

I picked up a 93 auto with 35k miles for 11.5k. Spent 2-3k to convert it to 5-speed. Just throwing that out there as an option if you do your own work. Generally the low mileage FDs are priced pretty high unless you get an auto.

maily because USDM ones are in better condition i.e no rust on some....and they are generally lower milage and cheaper

Not going to jack this thread... but I'd say that the US market doesn't value the RX7s enough... $10k for a car that is very stylish & 0-60 in under 5 secs?

That first requirement is the real trick. The problem is that most of the completely stock ones have blown up already. Unless you are buying it to put into a glass case somewhere you should give up on 100% stock. These things require a downpipe at the very least to keep from having to change your twin turbos like you would change underwear. Come to think of it, when driving an FD is it always a good idea to carry a change of underwear or at least a set for your passengers

just run a carfax,

and also consider that low mileage does not always = well kept... you can do alot of damage to a car in 50k miles.
