You didn't look hard enough:

there's no bolt holes for the fd mounts on the rear iron i got.

dunno if they had more than one style, but it's not gonna work that way.

The above post is from a guy who did the conversion and is running a 13B-RE right now. Post a pic of the motor mounts you have.

Why don't you PM rx7tt95 and see how it's mounted since he's done it?

The 13B-RE has the same mounting spots as the 20b-REW. If you could just buy mounts for the FD, nobody would bother with this subframe fun

The 13b-re and 20b have the same motor mounts, what hornbm is saying is that if there were mounts available for the 13b-re, then they would also be available for the 20B and people would not have to drop $2k on a subframe.

The 13B-Re I have at the shop did not come with drilled or tapped holes on the rear plate either, luckily it was going in an FC, which I do make engine installation brackets for.

So the easiest thing to do would be to swap out the rear plate with one from an FD, you would have to port the hell out of it of course or drill and tap the rear Cosmo Plate.

He doesn't visit here often. As far as I know (and I've been on here for quite some time), he is the only FD owner on this forum who is using the 13B Cosmo. He will be the only person who can give you a "real" answer so I would suggest you get over your phobia of PM's if you want some real help.

Correct the 13B-RE has motor mount bolts in the middle housing and not the rear like the FD3S. Similar to the mounts on the FC3S. Solution is to simply use the FD rear cover with the motor mount holes and FD oil pan or drill and tap the current rear housing.

I was browsing the internet and found this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33613

The guy modified the rear iron so that it can fit in an FD.

As i remember , rx7tt95 did put in a 13B RE by customing a sub-frame for the FD . The custom sub-frame used the original mounts on both the engine and chassis

Then you shouldn't have purchased an RE, because it's not a drop in engine.
