Where is the coolant level sensor????

Hey guys, I just got done reinstalling my motor and now my coolant light/buzzer will not go away!!!!! My temp is perfect and never gets hot my coolant has been at the very top for days now.

I think while replacing the engine maybe the coolant level sensor didnt get put back but i dont know where it is. Is it the black sensor right under the system cap? I think thats the temp probe but maybe I'm wrong.

Hopefully you guys can help a little

Thanks,
STEPHEN

THe sensor is on the filler nexk housing. There are two harnes connectors for the level sensor, one in visible sight near the sensor it self, and another harness on near the front trailing spark plug. I think that it actually ties into a harness wrap around a large cluster of wires.

hhmmmm, sounds like the one thats around the front trailing spark plug might be the problem. Do you have any idea what it looks like? What color? Anything like that?

Man, I really need to get a workshop manual.

Thanks,
STEPHEN

if the wire terminal ends are all original, there will be a black terminal end and a white terminal end, there are another set of black and white male ends, just be sure it's black to black and white to white. I did the same thing when I put mine back together too. These run by the front housing behind the power steering pump (main ignition harness).

im having the same problem with my FD. my coolant is always topped off, and the temp never rises above 95C or so when im driving, ever since i changed the plugs the buzzer hasnt stopped going off. you think i could have broken the wire while changing the plugs? does anyone have their camera handy and could take some pics for me? (of the sensor harness). appreciate the help!

It's a single black wire connector, rigth by the knock sensor area. You can find it - look.

The wire from the coolant level sensor does a "pass thru" on the main harness in the area of the Altenator. Look real hard. Black single wire....it's right there.

Or just run a new wire from the sensor over to the connector you grounded. But first don't let it win....find it.
