Where to buy vacuum caps?

Where can I find silicone vacuum caps to cap off unused vacuum ports? Anyone make them out of viton?

I don't know what viton is but you can go to any auto parts store, preferably Advanced Auto Parts or Auto Zone, and look for the HELP! section. HELP sells a whole assortment of grommets and vacuum caps. They have every size imaginable.

i have some mcmaster-carr ones in orange.
i used them for my EBC installation...i think they are 3.5mm or 4mm....

The auto parts store ones are crap - they will NOT last very long, and will eventually leak. I've been through plenty of those.

Many times I actually just use a short piece of silicone vacuum line and a bolt - if you do it right it can look clean, and it won't fail on you. I've also had 2 vacuum ports next to each other that I just ran a vacuum line from one nipple to the other.

The most hardcore way is to cut the vacuum nipple off and weld it closed. I actually did that on my old TII when I went full-on hardcore.

I have no experience with the McMaster-Carr ones, though.

Moroso makes a nice thick set in assorted sizes and colors. I can get a part # for you if needed.

I've used the autozone rubber ones (THEY FAIL), welded some, connected two together, and done the hose and bolt trick (on the bigger ones), but there are still some single nipples that I'd like to keep open as options for later but need to plug now. I'll be trying the silicone ones from McMaster.

Viton units would be the cat's *** though.

I've also wondered if it would be possible with either Viton or silicone lines to take a short section, cut it off, put some super glue inside on one end, and clamp it shut for a while. Yeah, it's super glue, but that's actually how most O-rings are made - a company makes long rolls of the round rubber material, you cut off a section and super glue the two ends together. Company I used to work for sold hydraulic fittings and O-rings back in the day and they routinely made them on the counter for customers.

I ordered some parts from Ray Crowe @ Malloy Mazda, and asked him if he could hook me up with a random assortment of 10 vacuum caps (I have quite a few uncapped nipples in my bay). He obliged (meaning for free), and I'm impressed with the build quality. I think they might actually last for a while, with all of that FD underhood heat!! Now THAT is customer service

EDIT: and they are black (I believe they are rubber, OEM style)
