When are the fans supposed to come on?

Hey guys, I've got a question about the stock fans for an FD, when sitting at idle and ac and everything else off, at what temp are the fans supposed to come on? And also, when I'm sitting at idle, I notice my temps will just keep going up and up and up, my fans seem to come on at like 200F, but I'm wondering if my thermostat might be off. Are the fans supposed to come on at like 180? And what kind of idle temps does everyone see if they just let the car sit, does it plateu out at a temp or does it just keep going up?

You can buy the miata thermoswitch and have the fans come on a bit earlier. I believe the stock fans come on at 226ºF.
Here's some more help.

This should answer all your questions.

so then if the engine fans don't even come on till like 226F, what is critical temperature for the engine of the car? I always though the car going anywhere beyond 226F was real bad
