Auto to manual
Hey, this is my first post and I really don't know that much about rx-7, so if it is a really stupid question give me a chance.
I currently have a 2003 srt-4. But I've always wanted a rx-7. I have a chance of getting a 3rd gen at an amazing price, however it is an automatic. If I get a manual tranmission, from what I've seen their like 300-400 dollars. Can I just switch them out or is it more to it then that?
Thanks again,
Darrin

Thanks guys, I did a search and found alot of info and it was very helpful. But very confusing at the same time I have to study it alittle more. I'm still worried about trading in my baby though. I'm just worried I won't understand the glory of the rotary and its rear-wheel driveness.

No it's not Turbo'd
To me it better be $$ cheaper than the cost of putting it in + the cost of the hassle of doing it, and having possible issues later with the install... since a lot of things need to be swapped out... so if you're getting an FD which would cost $20K with manual Trans, and getting it for $10k that's a deal that might be worth it, but at $14-16K for the same thing, I'd say save your $$ and buy the Genuine thing....

I think his MAIN intent was the illustration of the search function. If you put in those exact terms, you will find what you are looking for. Even better, use the advanced search button, enter those terms. This link has the original link for the two links he posted. Here comes the spoon...open...open wider:
