when do i need ignition assistance?

i'm planning on getting bigger injectors etc. for my car relatively soon so i can throw on an FMIC, efini y-pipe, hi-flow cat, and greddy elbow (to go along with my current mods) and run it at around 12-13psi. eventually i wanna go single, but it will be a while yet. when do i need to get some form of ignition assistance such as the HKS twin power? will i be ok as long as i'm running the stockers at around 12-13? or do i need something there?

only when you are seeing break-up. that is not plug/ground/mixture related. the stockers will make a ton of power

my car has break up when i up the boost to 15psi. Alot of people have this problem as well, but alot dont. Logic would say that it has to do with the tunning but i am dyno tuned to an 11.2afr. i dont get it. Anywas, once you have all the boltons , bigger injectors, etc.. and want to run greater then 14psi i think its time to upgrade the ignition.
what we really need is an end all debate ignition discussion. Many people claim its the tunning but how come people with break up that switch to the hks twin power solve their problem?

The people that are making "tons of power" with the stock ignition are just a handful of people. We have to remember that our coils are over 10 years old. Sitting on top of an engine with the UIM above it....they're taking quite a bit of heat where they're located. If you were to have a new igniter and new coils you probably won't have ignition breakup. I know when I replaced my leading coil with an aftermarket one that I didn't need to run my twinpower anymore since I wasn't getting anymore breakup...but I ran my ignition with a twinpower anyways.

I'm going to try out the new AEM ignition with my aftermarket coils and see how much better my spark becomes

well, i don't really wanna push my stock twins to far... so i think 14psi is kinda my limit... but that's what i say now it would be nice if we had some stickies that were the end-all be-all debates on certain topics. the major ones you know? to pre-mix or not to pre-mix, ignition issues, what oil to use where, anyone agree? i know these issues have been beat to all hell, but if they were stickied, then people wouldn't have to keep bringing them up. i know you say "use the search button" but there are so many different threads on it, you can't really keep the issues straight. if it were all consollidated perhaps that would be different but... i dunno, maybe they have been and i'm just missing it... hehe, its probably in a sticky that i didn't read
