hi all this is my first post. ive been reading the forum for a few months now. On the lookout for a nice rx preferably a type r or rs/rz. A local garage has two rx7s for sale. One J reg automatic and a manual type rs which is apparentley a 96 model. It hasnt been registered yet and has just failed mot on some small items. Ive viewed the car a few times. Its red, but some panels quite badly faded. Has the original front bumper/splitter combo, but a rather cheap badly painted/fitted spoiler. Rear wiper is missing with a grommet in place, radio is missing and parcel shelf too. Theres a small ripple in the passenger door and a small dent and long deep scratch in the osf wing. Nsf wing also has a small area of paint chipped off on the arch which is also coming through with some rust as a result. Plus points Its done 90000kms, has had a recent engine replacement/rebuild - (Bloke selling it not sure as its not his car but the bloke who car belongs to has all docs etc.)
Interior is in good condition and seems to run smoothly no smoke etc. Ive only viewed the car twice for ten mins or so, but with a bit of bodywork it could be a nice car. Any ideas on what the cars really worth?? bare in mind im in the motor trade so it shouldnt cost me too much to have the paintwork put right at least. Ive considered importing an rx but for a 96 it would prob cost a lot more than 5500 for a car ive never seen. Any comments would be appreciated. cheers
