Uh, that would be "narc". Don't be so hard on the guy, he has good intentions. Sounds to me like you're going to get the car. Hope it works out and keep us posted.

First off, I do not think I will be getting this car at this price. The risk is too much. Although, the guy has told me the issue with the engine is fixed with a new rebuild, he is afraid to tune the car on dyno for fear of blowing up the engine. Basically he wants me to purchase the car from him for 19K then have me take the risk of blowing up the motor after I have paid him.

He can't have his cake and eat it too. Either tune the engine, and prove it can hold up to the abuse, or sell me the car for 15K with the full knowledge that the engine could still have issues.

This decision is what I have come up with based inpart on input from you guys on this thread, so please keep your comments coming if you got any thing else to say. It really is helpful.

Secondly, I have nothing against jonesboro, I am sure his intentions were to help. It is just that he was not acutally helping. I don't need to be told off for thinking outloud about the process of buying a car on this forum.

Anyways, thanks all for the help. Joneboro, if you are reading this, thanks for the input on the smog. I am sure your intentions were to help. And, hopefully, some day soon I will find a freaking FD in good condtion.
