Correct, it is really a plastic support but it is usually removed when going front mount IC.
This is my car with it removed with a home made kit to open the front a little more.

There are little wedge shaped decorative pieces that go there on an s8 bumper. I picked up a bunch randomly on a site specializing on selling clips. I will see if I can find for you.

Here you go.

Buy a bunch.

hand them out at car meets!

https://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Ma...p-p/a19228.htm

That site has 130 mazda specific clips.

I usually buy a variety of stuff.

Incorrect for S8. The airguide is different and does not go below rebar level.

The PN for the clips is in my post above. That's all he needs if he has an S8.

Air guide for S8 is more like a bar.

Silver bumper above is S6/S7.

Interestingly, there is an air dam on S8, that is missing from most cars. Sits behind and below the front lip.

Site does call it a Miata part. But it fits in there on the FD nice and snug.

I have retrieved a clip like that off an S6.

Mystery Part: 50-732C

Does your car have? It seems like a kind of afterthought addition.

Does not match the FD part style. Likely gets lost when undertray is removed.

Looks like it could be copied by modifying a length of aluminum channel.

Supposed to help with downforce.

(Skaato, Furonto eah damu)

Note: S8 undertray does not have the upper layer like the S6. The tray on my car pictured above is from S6, but with upper portion removed.

There has been some discussion that the upper par of the S6 undertray causes back pressure (and therefore lift).

The S8 "rebar" seem to have flanges that would line up to the those bumper skin flanges Those clips may therefore have a purpose beyond decoration.

NA01-50-101A is a Miata part, originally. Also used on the FD
those buyers guides take an average of what a part is and what it fits, and that is what they put in the description.

They secure the lower mouth bumper skin to the lower section of the rebar making it more solid. The late front end is really well braced.
