What's a CYM rolling chassis worth?

I found a CYM without a motor, and I was going to take the motor out of my recently wrecked FD, and drop it in.

The CYM:

90k on chassis
newly rebuilt tranny
17in Fiske Rims
RB catback

That's all that's on the car, to my knowledge. I've got to put the entire motor and harness in.

I'd appreciate any help. thanks,

I'm sure a million people would take it But what's it worth?

Every other rolling chassis is in the 6-8 range, but there's no way he'll accept that, I'm sure.

About 2 to 3K more for CYM due to its rareness. But, that's if the paint and interior are nearly flawless, i.e., little or no fading. Also, make sure that ALL of the R1 components are with the car before agreeing to a price!! Bottom line is that he can ask as much as he wants for the car. Just depends on how long he wants to wait to sell it!

If he's not willing to take market for it then move on to the next one. Realistically it should only be worth more then any other car if the paint is in excelant shape, otherwise you will end up repainting it anyways.

How much is a nice one worth? There was a nice one on Ebay a while back with about 40K miles about 60 miles from me. I went and looked at it, nice car, solid, 100% stock garaged, 2nd owner. I think it sold for $18K.

How much work will it take to fix that one up? Will it be as nice as a ~40K mile car when done?

I'm going to look at it this afternoon. Hopefully I'll find out.

The guy's had it since '95, and has gone through 10 or 12 motors (or so St. Louis rumor says). I guess he can't tune that well, I don't know. I'm guessing that it's been sitting in a garage for most of it's life, although the miles would suggest a lot of driving when it was on the road.

we'll see.

If I get the car, I'm keeping the wheels--they look great.

The car was repainted in '95, and in my opinion some of the integrity of being a true CYM was taken away at that point. It's in great overall shape, though the interior needs a bit of reconditioning (just some parts from mine).

I'll most likely get it if he makes me a good deal. The guy says someone offered him $12k for the CHASSIS, and there's no way I'm paying that.

12K, he is dreaming and tring to get you to match it. If he can get 12K then more power to him, but I seriously wouldn't go over market on it.
