Its been a LONG time from my last post but this has always bugged me.

I have been wondering how close my FD is to being the first out of the factory. Mine was made in Feb/ 92 and is CYM. I really wish I knew what # my CYM was out of the 350. Maybe if I call mazda they they can help me.

 

Mine was made Jan 1992 it is a vr base model. I also was thinking about that and when looking at my vin number the serial number is in the 1 thousands I dont mean to thread jack but does anybody know if they started from 1 or a 1000?

12/93. According to Mazda, 12/24/93.

 

My sticker says... 01/92. With a body color code of J9 (cym). I would imagine i have one of the early ones.

 

The white sticker inside the door says something like 8 or 10/1993 but the registration papers say 1994. I bought the car thinking it was a 1994.

Since I'm not familiar with RX7s or US market I don't know which model it is either (r1, r2, touring, base etc.). No bose, no sunroof, no rear wiper, fabric/suedish seats????

 

^ sounds fine to me, cars with 92 build dates are 93s

Yes the 91 and 92 made FDs are 93 models, but you go by manufacture date for emissions testing and age.

im still trying to figure out mine. i have a j-spec and yeah i dont know if it even says. some one should help me figure mine out. haha. and i want to find wat version mine is. it has alot of r1 pieces on it. but some dont match up!

 

12/95 SSM R2 i always wanted to know which # i was too. i think there was only 16 ssm's in 95

 

Bringing this back up to see if there is anybody who has a car that is built before 01/92 and/or has a serial number lower than 1000

jeff is correct, first FD was built 12/24/91

mazda usa used to have #16 (jmifD331?po2000016) sitting at the design center.

i understand peter farrell got 5 early preproduction cars too

 

so you and I have one of the only 16 ssm in 95 r2 where did u see the year/month at? btw, i might be wrong but i thought only 15 was sold.

 

It's a version 2 FD, built on 23 August 1993.
