what would you suggest, i am in a bit a of bind here

well everyone, i have some very bad news about the batmobile. i think i blew a coolant seal i basically did a 100,000mile tidy-up; replaced all the fluids, replaced everything rubber and added other reliability goodies. i cranked it, i smoked out my neighborhood with white (maybe blue) smoke and i took it for a spin and it drank coolant like a fish until the buzzer came.

well crap. what sux is i have to move from san diego to philly next month because the military is relocating me there. i am going to have my car shipped... no problem there. but here is my bind, i do not know what to do. i banked alot of money i made while in iraq and was just waiting for something like this. should i go with a rebuild with a mild street port, a guru e-shaft, excessive motorsports goodies and a greddy t78? i have no idea of any places around philly that are good with these type of things. should i take it to speed machine performance in vista, order all the parts and tell them they have less then a month?

You do not want to try to do all that in less than a month, I can tell you that.

Do people still install T-78s? Why? A GT-35R T4 or AR500 is a much better turbo.....

BTW, WTF is a "guru e-shaft"?

Um, you do realize that that e-shaft is about $1500, right?

And you think spending $1500 on an e-shaft for your street car is a good use of money?

Before you answer that, I would be surprised if a single person on this forum is running it. Considering most people don't even use new housings in a rebuild.....

Christ, that's a good portion of a rebuild cost....save your money.

I would get it shipped to Philidelphia then worry about getting it fixed. If you post up in a regional forum, I'm sure they can tell you the local go-to places. In the meantime plan out your rebuild in detail, maybe order some parts if they're going to take a while to get ahold of.

And couldn't you get a 3 piece for less? Not really my area of expertise, but I remember a certain forum member who told me he was getting a 3 piece carbon fiber shaft for < $1500.

Well, the month time frame seems a little tight to me. You're talking about time in shipping for the motor, and then time for the shop to actually get to it. Then, you're talking about whether or not someone has the turbo kit, and posiibly other parts in stock(do you have a management system yet?).....plus the shipping time for those as well. Then dyno tuning.
I don't know.....

Great, you linked me to someone describing their "fantasy engine".

If you don't want to listen to me, fine, go ahead and blow $1500+ on that e-shaft. It's an incredibly stupid waste of money, but go ahead. Better than blowing it on a shitty looking bodykit, I guess.

there really is no reference on this site of anyone actually using this. to me, it is worth a $1500 try, who knows, it may just work

Davin, I'll steer you in the right direction. If you end up going with Ihor and myself, we'll optimize your deployment money while building you a badass FD

Here's a little pic from my Iraq tour

I'm so with you on this. I hate bodykits on FD's. The car looks amazing as it is.

That's one hell of a skylight Goodfella. Damn.

If you are serious about an e-shaft i would look into Reaction Racing's, it's claimed to be able to handle 12000rpm, that's about all the facts i have on it though! Btw it's not listed on their website so you probably have to mail, but i have seen it for sale for about 1000$.
