What would you pay?
I am looking at buying a third gen and was wondering about the price. one I was looking at is a 93 touring for $16,750 with 30k miles. The car is stock as well. Is this about right? I have been reading as much as I can about these cars but have not read much about price. I have seen some for a lot less and a lot more.
Thanks
Jeff

It's kind of hard to tell, you would really have to check the car out in person and have it checked out by someone who knows FDs. The price certainly seems very reasonable if everything is on the up-and-up.

Ask the seller to get a compression check, if they haven't done so.

hmm...i don't know the seller so no offense if he's a great, honest guy
but seems really odd that he bought it and is selling it right away. he might really want a r1, maybe he's in financial problems, but it certainly does bring up a red flag.
that said, hard to say...for me the chasis/engine miles is less important than the overall condition of the car. go see it in person.
but it does seem like a good price.

I was in your same shoes a year ago. Found a nice 7, only 69k on car and 5 on rebuilt engine. Extremely nice interior, just good over all condition, just needed the brake calipers replaced. Owner had never even registered, bought it and turned around and sold it. I was a little hesitant, paid 15,5 and drove it home. Never had a problem with her, or at least nothing you wouldn't expect out a 10 yrs old car, loose bolt here and there, bad radiator hose, just minor stuff. I'm having a problem with a turbo seal now, and they are supposed to have 14k mi on them. SOOOO my advice is the same as the others, if you don't know all you need to know about a rotary, take it to some one that does. If everything is legit, sounds like you are getting yourself into a good deal. Hope that helped!!!
