FL What is this Vacuum Line?

Had the Air Pump out to remove a busted off bolt and the photos show a "plugged vacuum line just behind where the Air Pump goes.

It's the Yellow plug on the hose above the middle of the pic.

Any idea what this is?

I didn't notice it until I reviewed the pictures after reinstalling the pump.

Thanks for any insight.

Without seeing a picture, the first thing that comes to mind is maybe the egr.

do the vacuum lines next to that plug go to the precontrol and wastegate solenoids? If so, then that pipe is supposed to me plugged

There is a pipe on the rats nest in that area that doesn't go to anything. Sometimes I see it plugged from tghe factory with a vacuum cap.

Well, to start with, it ain't stock. Where does the other end of the hose go?

Also, the water line for the turbo looks like some terrible concoction. It actually looks fuzzy . I would get a real OEM hose on there. If you can dig up the OEM spring clamps, use those - I hate using worm drive clamps on water hoses.

Still not sure what hose you are talking about. Is it that thing next to the alternator, or the piece coming off the turbo?

Never mind, I see that it is not attached to the turbo. hmmm

Thanks Dale, I didn't notice the water hose issue.

Not sure "where" the vacuum line goes.

I'll have to open the area back up to see.

Could have been blocked off by the builder when engine was rebuilt.

Just curious if I may ask for what this may be. I've been working on putting the car back together and am not sure what this is or where it goes, though it may all make sense as I progress, but just trying to avoid back tracking to far. Thanks in advance (and sorry for the thread jack)!

Also have some rectangular rubber gaskets, but not sure where they go, but they're in my bag from around this part of disassembly.

That's normal, it's just a filter for one of the rat's nest solenoids. If you need help on those mystery gaskets, start a thread on it.
