What is this turbo.....?

This is a turbo I listed on ebay thinking it was a 3rd gen turbo. Apparently the guy who bought it says otherwise could you guys clear it up for me.

And BTW it is for sale. $500

I've disassembled and reassembled my twins a couple of times (so I've had a good look at them), and that looks very 3rd gen to me.

The exhaust manifold looks rotary for sure but some of the piping(like the peice that looks like it's supposed to be a secondary turbo elbow, as well as some of the rubber piping)doesn't look like oem FD piping. Also the primary turbo elbow looks a little different. 13b-re turbo's maybe? Although maybe they are the 13b-rew ones and I'm missing something..

edit* I stand corrected that secondary turbo inlet pipe resembles the shape of a FD one but it's still hard to tell too much from those pics.

Thanks keep posting, I was threatned by court if I dont take the turbo back.

I dont mind taking it back and refunding him the money, but I just dont want the hassle, and if its not a rx7 turbo then I have no clue what it is making it harder to sell it.

I dont want to be naive take it back and find out its a rx7 turbo. I want me and him to be happy, but I dont want to get screwed.

Those are FD turbos. Just compared the pic to the set of turbos I have sitting right here and they look the same.

Everything is where it should be except for one cover plate which i think covers the wastegate (extra flapper which should be below the where the downpipe connects)???? (correct me if i am wrong there) but otherwise they look just like mine did when they were sequential. But I do agree that the intake or pressure tubing looks odd. Tough with all the pics upside down and all.

Beat me to it. The turbo's are hard to distinguish unless you have the numbers off the front of the compressor housing. But the piping looks very Cosmo...

That was gonna be my thought too, cus they look so similar to FD twins, but they're slightly different in small details, such as the aforementioned piping.

I agree with J.S.J

Those are NOT FD turbos, all that odd rubber piping in the first photo, and the weird inlet on one of the turbos, def. not FD turbos

I would guess cosmo, but that is just a guess.

Those are not FD (RX-7 13B-REW) turbos judging by the appearance of the piping. However, I don't think they are 20B (3-rotor Cosmo) sequentials, either, since it looks like they have two exhaust manifold inlets. I think the 20B turbo system (one HT15 and one HT12 turbo) has a sort of log manifold that I don't see there. That leads me to guess that they are HT10 sequentials from a 2-rotor Cosmo (also a 13B-REW, IIRC, but different from an RX-7s). The RX-7 sequentials are slightly larger HT12 turbos.

the 13b cosmos had ht-10's??? the fd has 2 ht-12's and the 20b has an ht-12, and a ht-15.... max you may be right that it is a 13b set though... its just that the primary looks slightly larger to me... lemme see if i can dig up another pic of a set of 20b's

BRB

edit: ok sorry cant find the picture im thinking of

Check this out. The way to tell if it's a cosmo turbo(s) is that the cosmo turbo has 3 bolts that connect to the downpipe. The FD has 4 bolts. I believe that's a quick way to tell those two apart.
