Hahah, guess that makes me half a baller. Anywho, just go get a darn ecu man, piggyback that sucker or standalone (whatever floats your boat) and just get that **** stable. The money should be going towards not blowing up your previous investments =P. I call this stage the 'protection' stage since you are spending moey on something that is literally saving the life of other components. Not that an ECU can't be used for other things.

Well if I am going for a computer I am going for the Apex. And I have not found the $1300 to drop yet? But that is what I was thinking. what do you think about my ECU choice. And also what kind of hp gains can I expect from the Apex FC.

#1. ECU
#2. Reliability mods (AST, Radiator, Hoses)
then depending on what you want to do with the car you can go with coilovers, wheels, body kit, etc. or you can shoot down the power trail with injectors, fuel pump, ic, upgraded turbos or single turbo. Its just about what you want.

If you don't plan on going single get an upgraded SM or FM intercooler.

I basically try to find out as much info about this car as possible and help others out from what I've learned.

Get a ECU ASAP.
and get peace of mind.
I drove around with
DP/CB/INTAKE/SMIC.
And talk about paranoia.

With a new ECU your car will feel
and run totally different. The Diff
is like night and day... Stock
ECU suck period.

The Power FC is probably the best ECU you can buy unless you have very very heavy mods. You can pick one up for a little under 1000$ It will make the car run a lot smoother and efficiently.

His probably runs a lot like mine but not quite as fast!
As long as the fuel system is working properly and you are not boosting over 12psi you don't need an ecu - the stock maps actually are VERY RICH at WOT. Check my sig I run all my mods on the stock ecu and still run plenty rich!

MakeShift:

FIRST (if you have not already) GET A BOOST GUAGE! and an A/F ratio meter, Run the car on a dyno w/ a Wide Band O2 sensor (or even better a 4gas exhaust analyser) and verify your A/F ratios.

As you add mods (IC Intake etc) do them one at a time and recheck A/F ratios on the Dyno after each mod - when WOT ratios get up to 12:1 then it is time to upgrade the Fuel System &/or the ECU

Remember, maxpense has an automatic therefore it's harder to get that power to the wheels.

Actually it's easier to get the power to the wheels - JUST STEP ON THE GAS! NO CLUTCH NO FUSS!! Just stomp & GO! ;-)

LOL, I guess I should have said that it transfers less power to the wheels.

With the hot temps that we see here it's just pushing you closer to detonation.
