At what point?

At what point should I install a fuel pump? I bought an FD with a bad motor in Aug. Since then I have installed a malloy reman, non-seq setup, silicon hoses, boost controller, full 3inch exhaust (no cat), hard pipe intake, koyo radiator, front mount and greddy pulley. I also bought a RX7.com reprogrammed ECU that should cover these mods. On a side note I have never driven this car and havent started it up yet (just finished it). Should I install a fuel pump or will that be over kill? Thanks for any help.

I'd be putting one in very soon. But first I'd put a PFC in and lose the remapped ECU, especially considering no cat.

You don't need a higher flowing fuel pump until you've installed larger injectors. The stock pump will outflow the OEM injectors.

Please use the search function next time.

While that is true, in his current state of modification he needs more fuel than the stock injectors can provide if he wants to take it above 10 psi (and keeping it below 10 would be a trick).

I agree with bricke, lose the remapped, get a PFC, injectors and a pump and tune it.

Huh? That is so completely wrong! The stock injectors can handle 13-14 psi with the stock twins before hitting 100% injector duty. He can certainly go over 10 psi.

The ecu will run plenty of fuel until he exceeds the physical limitations of the injectors, which will be at 13-14 psi.

I don't plan on running more then 1bar ever. I also plan on keeping the twins. I'm building it for autox/drift. I know going non-seq hurt me with the low end though, I just really wanted to get rid of the rats nest. When upgrading injectors should I upgrade both primarys and secondarys, or would upgrading my primarys to 850's be enough?

Believe it or not. I ran my t78 off the wastegate(9 to 10psi) on a stock fuel system and a PFC,datalogic and wideband. I ran it for about 6 months before I put my extreme fuel system in.

It is far easier to upgrade the secondaries to bored out 1200 or 1300cc injectors. Upgrading either of the injectors will require a programmable ecu, so won't work with the rx7.com ecu. You don't need to upgrade your injectors for 13 psi or less.

Also, you are screwed for auto-x running non-seq. Hope your local guys only run fast courses.

Not necessarily. A clogged fuel filter or other problem in the rat's nest could cause the same thing. It's a FACT that the stock pump will outflow the stock injectors. There is NO need to upgrade the fuel pump until you upgrade the injectors.
