What is my car worth?

Alright, long story short:

It's a bb '95 base with 44k miles, a perfect interior and a very nice exterior.

The coolant seal is blown, I've recieved some conflicting information that might mean that my primary turbo is going out and I slid it into a curb (stupid me). The right rear subframe is bent, the lower control arm is bent, the trailing arm is bent, some knuckle is bent, the rim is cracked, and it needs a new sideskirt.

I'd fix it, but I'm scared it'll break again. I'm 18, I don't need this ****.

FD's are all over the charts as far as prices go and mine is not typical, so I have no idea what I should try to sell it for. I'm in for a big loss though.

Got to be careful about the way you treat your FD specially at the age of 18 due to all the speeding/racing etc... i'm 17 and don't do anything stupid Yet anyway a blown coolant seal means rebuild. There goes a few thousand right there... not sure how much its worth to be honest..

I recently bought a non running RX with everything else otherwise in tact for about $2200 - this is the UK though. Youll get a decent one for $10000 here so keep that in mind.

Well, i believe yours should be worth a little more because it's a '95 and you have low miles. As for actual price, i really can't give you a figure.

I bought a 94 touring that had a small engine fire

Mint interior, 8/10 exterior

newer reman, completely stock

$4500

If your title is clean, you should get a good bit more than that, or you could just let me fix it for you

You are kidding me right? We ALL do some stupid things occationally. Stupidity is multiplied by a factor of 5 before college graduation, and any time alcohol is involved...

Anyway, on to the topic of the thread.

GET an estimate on how much it is going to cost to fix it. Do you have full coverage insurance on the car? If you do, pay the deductible, have the insurance company pay for it, and prepare for the insurance rate hike.

You would be out of your mind to not recondition a 50K mile '95 and let it go for sub $7000... I would put about $3-$4k into the engine, fix the body work (assuming it isn't a salvage title) and sell it in the $16-17K range. That is assuming it is a pretty clean car otherwise.

Putting $6K into repairs to get an additional $10K out of the car is a totally worthwhile investment.

FWIW...Japan2la is selling a complete rear suspension package, including everything you would need to get your car back on the road for $550. That includes the rear subframe and all the suspension parts that attach to it. Shocks, knuckles, trailing arms, toe links, axels, differential, differential mounts, etc...

You would be well advised to pick that up...

A new knuckle from Mazda is somewhere in the $1000 range brand new.

this was a "smoking" deal... pardon the pun

A relatively clean roller should go in the $6K range I would think, depending on mileage, interior condition, etc... It is hard to value a car we haven't seen. Posting pictures would be worthwhile if you want more than moral support.

the title is clean.

My mechanic has told me now that for the amount of time it's been sitting, it basically needs a new short block, and he said it could be like $7k for a rebuild. A new short block from malloy mazda was only something like $3400+$600 core so that price seems crazy to me though. He said the suspension with used parts and labor should be $2k, and a turbo rebuild probably about another $1300 if it's done when the motor is being rebuilt.

So anyway, from his shop, I'd be looking at like $10k to fix this car. I'm in right now for about $18k.

If I could fix the whole car for $6k (i know I could if I did my own labor...), I'd be happy to fix it. But if it's gonna be more like $10k, I think it's just too much. If I kept the car, I'd NEED it to be reliable, and we all know how reliable FD's are.

maybe 8-10 grand , cause its a 95 with low mileage...(just a guess)
can sell any car for what you want , usually if you have time to wait...have to find the right person to buy it...

when i was looking i was going to buy a blown motor fd...but wanted one that ran first so i could learn the rotary engine more...
now i would buy a blown motor fd...(maybe in about another year.. )

good luck
