seems like the manual conversion would add much more than it would cost. With auto- 17-18k. With 5speed 20-22k.

I would say like the other guys 20k because its an auto you get yourself a manual in there and you would be able to get probably closer to 30k for it.

if you are considering selling it, I would leave it an auto. I'm not sure as a buyer I would like the fact that it had been, uh, re-engineered, to put it politely. Modded cars generally bring lower prices than unmolested examples. A 5-speed conversion would be "raped". If the problem is that you really wanted a 5 speed, then I would buy a stock 5 speed, swap out all of your performance parts and find someone to buy your stock "never raced" auto. A second option if you still have the stock parts is to put it back to stock and sell off your performance parts on ebay or here. The tranny swap is likely to bring up all sorts of bugs and tiny "problems" that would be acceptable to you as your project car, but that I would argue against in order to bring the price down. The autos and manual have different harnesses, gauge clusters (???odometer reading which may be a problem in your state), and I have seen varying degrees of "swaps". Sorry for the long post, but I am struggling with these issues as well. Looks like it will be so long RX7.
