Red face What model do i have?!

alright so I've spent quite a while researching and trying to figure out what model of rx7 i have and the production date on it as well. im thinking its just a factory custom picked option car. its a j-spec car. it has parts from the R1 like dual oil coolers, no sun roof, no bose stereo. the brace in the engine bay and no back windshield wiper. but it doesn't have the suede seats and the stock color is the M8 (montego blue) and from my understanding R1's didnt come in that color.. i grabbed a picture from the door jam of the cars tag. im not sure wat suspension it is either since its in japanese. if anyone could enlighten me. i've read through the other threads. and also the sticker says *special edition*. not sure if its referring to it as a special edition or just a category. the tag i believe also says there is no a/c or power steering. which in fact the car has both. help would be much appreciated!
ps correct me if im wrong on any of the above!

I think you can call Mazda North America Operations customer service and get original information including model and factory options for your car. I did this on my car a few years ago and they were very helpful.

can you post a link to what said R1s weren't available in MB? I also am fairly certain ALL FDs came with a/c and p/s, but you're right, the sticker doesn't seem to indicate it. It does say special edition, I wonder what that's about, it seems like some other info is missing too.

I know that for FC's air conditioning was a port installed option and was not "technically" a factory option. IF A/C and P/S were port installed options they would not appear on the tag or fulfillment records.

Only North American Models were named R-1, R-2, Base and Touring monikers
Series 6 Japanese models got Type R, Type RZ, Type RB, A-spec, and Touring X monikers.

my rx7 has the "popular equipment package." which is sort of inbetween the base model and the r1. mine has leather seats and sunroof, but no rear windshield wiper or dual oil coolers

I am pretty sure it's a Type-R.

What seats are in it? Are they just the base seats or are they Recaros?

r1/r2 depending on if it's titled as a 93 or 94, but since you said manufactured in late 93, odds are it's a 94 and an R2

Registration papers say 94. As far as I remember the white sticker on the door says 8 or 10/93. So I guess it's likely a R2. I'll check the exact manufacturing date when I go down to the car.

Thumbs down Read instead of posting...

Instead of thread jacking, why not do some reading instead of posting? A quick look in the FAQ would have helped you come up with your own answers...check out post #4 and items #1, 2, and 9 in that post.

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/faq-3rd-gen-other-useful-links-68640/

Or would you rather keep waiting for people to "spoon feed" you answers as long as you are on the forum? From what I remember about your pillow ball thread, you were in a time crunch to order some parts, and that was the reason for the threads; however, that excuse obviously has no impact on this thread.

As a noob, spend more time reading. And then read some more...

I have a similar sticker on the passanger side of my car and another sticker on the inside of driver side door. Do you have another sticker with date of manufacture etc. on the driver side door? Maybe it has more info on it.
