Instead of swapping back to the stock cat, can you instead connect the airpump to the RMP?

You would have to drill and tap a hole into it... but that would serve absolutely no purpose, may even cause problems.

Just an idea but how about welding in a metal cat? It should flow about as good as a muffler and muffle some while reducing droning. In addition it should make your car smell better, less toxic, and more environmentally friendly. It's smaller than most mufflers and shouldn't be any heavier either. Supposed to be durable compared to older ceramic cats. This is what I'm going to do when my ceramic cat dies. The price ($138) is probably slightly higher than a muffler but a good 304 stainless muffler isn't cheap either.

M/T = 5 speed... but I don't think there would be a difference.

I realize there is a shield, but if all are sandwiched up against the floor, this could get a bit warm. Thus, you will in all likelihood need to modify the adjacent piping or devise some type of spacer to keep it down from the floor.
The drive shaft is between the floor and the cat.

I really can't see why they would be different...

If you could find out if they indeed are different it would help me out a lot.

Thanks
