What kind of seats are in the 2000 RZ? (pic inside)

I was just looking at the propoganda shots of the '00 RZ and was noticing the seats. Being that I'm in the market for new seats, I thought I'd give them a good looking into, but they aren't on the Recaro site. Does anyone know what kind of Recaros they are and/or if they are availalable through anyone other than Mazda?

those would be at least a little bit custom for Mazda - since they have the stock seat-belt holder-clip thing on them.

I know that doesn't help you much...

From what I understand afrom previous posts about these seats are 1. They are not available as aftermarket. 2. they are Recaro.

and I think they are almost 2k/seat! nice though, nice kevlar weave and low side supports for easier entries...this should be every FD owners' dream seat!

I think they are called Recaro SPGs?

Derek at Corksport may be able to get them for you.

If the price is anywhere near reasonable I would be interested in buying a set also. Perhaps we can arrange some sort of group buy or something.

I'd be curious as to what Corksport would say if you find out. I prefer the earlier ones they made in black:

I like the black, too.

I've emailed a few places asking for info.

I assume these will cost anything from $1000 to $2500 or more per pair. I am hoping that we can get them for $1500 or so. Given that this will likely be expensive, about how many people are seriously considering this purchase? And what color would you want (red or black)? I am just trying to figure out how many buyers we might have if that could help reduce the price. Your response won't be a comittment to buy, just an indication of your interest in making the purchase, which will of course depend on the price and other factors.

Any luck getting a part # or ordering these as stock replacements in japan? I know they are not available from Recaro but maybe they can leak some past the Mazda stock supply for purchase. Give us ther scoop.

I sorted all these seats out before and had the part numbers etc.

Firstly there are many different models of RZ Jap Spec FD's

The pics you posted are from the 96' RZ

This is the 92 RZ

There is also the 99 RZ

And a 01 RZ Ltd.

There is not much difference in RZ Seats 92-99 all are black and only availible from Mazda Japan , Aus and NZ though im sure Mazda USA would get them in if you asked nicely.

The 01 RZ Ltd is the only one with Red Seats.

All models (01 exception) are synthetic Suade with Kevlar exposed backs.

01 is Kevlar without a exposed back.

I hope this helps you out.

If you want there is a website from Mazda.

History of the RX-7 on Mazda Japans website.

Its got all the models apart from a few very rare ones.

Eg. SP's & LM's

Well guys I have some good news for you on the RED RZ Seats.

They are the same used on the NSX-R and Integra Type R.

Get a Junked Type R get the seats stick the belt clips on the sides. Bolt them in and your done.

WHo da Man ????
