what hose?

ok well when i installed my greddy elbow, i noticed that i had to disconnect a hose from the stock elbow... so i installed my greddy elbow and realized that there is no place to connect back that hose... i was wondering what hose is that, and do i need to connect it to anything? does it affect performance?

It is for the AWS. Trace it back to the UIM and install a block off plate.

If the AWS is removed and blocking plate installed won't the PCME throw a code 38?? Would it not be better to either put a small filter on the AWS tube, route a hose to a welded adapter on the Greddy elbow or simply plug the AWS inlet tube? The ASW should only be open when cranking and during idle warmup.

I have the same issue...

If you remove the AWS valve it will throw a code. What only needs to be removed is the the metal tube that allows the hose to be connected to the AWS. Sorry about not being clear on that.

Also, you could just plug the hose and clamp it. That is what I did for about six months before I put on a block off plate. It doesn't affect performance and you won't get a check engine light.

Some people have installed fittings on the Greddy Elbow to allow connection of the hose. However, it is alot of expense for a system (AWS) with is not very useful to most RX-7 owners.
