What exhaust parts to Jet-Hot coat?

I do have a budget so I want to pick 1 or 2 really important parts.

The downpipe would be the primary and maybe the exhaust manifold would be second.
Question is: since the manifold is so small and the exhaust pulses get by it so fast would it be worth the money?

Yes, it's worth it because it help reduce heat to into the turbo, Also I got all of my parts done since 97 and never had issues. Also all together was only like $150 including shipping to and back to you.

If you need to do any exhaust parts that are really expensive to ship it's best to find a local powdercoating shop that also does ceramic coating. I needed a set of headers coated and it was going to be an additional 140 in shipping to/from jet hot, so I found a local shop that could do it for the same price.

As much as jet-hot markets their stuff as being "superior" it's the same coating that everyone else is providing, they just spend more time polishing there cerami-chrome colors so it looks more shiny.

Also, just a heads up on this stuff, get your car tuned prior to sending the parts out, higher than normal EGT's due to rich/lean conditions will burn the finish right off. Also, for turbo applications, don't have the inside of anything coated, it will flake off and go through the exhaust turbine.

Jet hot is crap. There are much better coating facilities available. Pm Goodfellafd3s and inquire about our coatings. They are MUCH more durable than anything else I've seen. It will not flake or come off from normal use.

If it's not stainless then it will rust apart. Wrapping doesn't last very long either.

well hopefully he's invested in a good manifold or it'll fall apart regardless of wrap or coating. any mild steel manifold has the potential to rust and fall apart when in contact with sustained heat and/or water. of course we're talking about over MANY years. it's not like water will touch it and then it'll fall apart in a week.

they all wear out (coatings or wraps). I just think it's less pita to redo wrapping. Goodfella apparently has some knowledge of a better heat coating... so i'm open to changing my mind in a few years if his is still coated.

to Finster: yes, wrap it in DEI exhaust wrap. it's pretty common and can be picked up just about anywhere. (Autozone, summitracing, etc..)

(I also think it just looks better aesthetically)

HI Exhaust wrapping

I had my entire exhaust, from the DP-MP-to the muffler end wrapped in exhaust wrap that was painted and sealed with high temperature materials. Still looks fine with no outer surface rust after 3 going 4 years. May not win a beauty contest at any car show....but what the hell....I'll rather be driving something that lasts and does it's job!

Mean while I would wait and see if the coating process lasts as long. Internal coating makes sense, if it is possible to do the entire DP or MP?

Do you have to fasten it in any way, or does it just stay on? I wonder if stainless steel clamps will work? You can get some pretty big ones at Lowes or Home Depot.

I bet some stainless wire could be wrapped around it?

Does the stuff just stay on?
