What else do i need before a tune

hey guys
i just got done putting the 1500 miles of break in on my new motor

my mod list so far is as follows:

street ported motor
full vacuum line job
Blitz BOV
V-Mount intercooler
Downpipe and mid-pipe
air pump delete
greddy elbow
upgraded oil cooler
walbro 255lph fuel pump

thats what i have installed so far

parts still to install:
Vortech FPR
Secondary Rail with 1600cc injectors
Apex'i PFC (dont worry i've kept the revs under 4k lol)

oh and i'm still on the stock twins for now

my question to you guys now is: what do i still need before i take the car to get tuned?

what i already know that i still need is:

boost controller
muffler for the mid pipe so i dont get boost creep (at least thats what i've been told, can u guys please verify this)
meth injection

...anything else i need? i want to get everything i need into the car so when i tune it, its all tuned together

1. Personally, I would ditch the Walbro for a Supra pump.

2. With the air pump deleted, I would also look into an idler pulley. Pineapple Racing makes a nice kit. You will experience water pump slippage without one.

3. Have you rewired your fuel pump? If not, also highly recommended.

4. When you install the new secondary injectors, have the primaries cleaned & flow tested. I would also replace the OEM FPD if it is not newer.

5. The muffler in the mid-pipe may allow you to keep the boost down, it may not. Ultimately, porting the wastegates is the best fix. You may experience spikes without them being ported. If you have done research on this, than you know that some cars seem to control boost better than others. Since you will have a PFC & upgraded fuel, you are at less risk, but boost spikes can still be dangerous. I am no expert on the twins as I went single soon after buying my car. Others may have more input.

6. I would also recommend quality aftermarket gauges. Water temp, boost & a Wide-band 02 at a minimum.

7. When you say meth, I presume your going to run a 50/50 mix. If not, take VERY close care of the lines & how you install the system. 100% alcohol is VERY flammable. I would use stainless braided lines & fittings for this as well. If your running a 50/50, a quality aftermarket kit will do fine. I recommend DevilsOwn. There would really be no need for 100% alcohol with the power you will be making. The mix will serve a better purpose to prevent detonation while cooling your intake temps.

Take your time installing everything. Quality Quality Quality.... especially with the fuel system. It also helps to have an extra set of eyes to look everything over. Check your fuel system for leaks a couple of times before you button everything up. When you set your base pressure, look everything over, then turn up the fuel pressure to what it will be under full boost & let the pump run as you look everything over again. This will simulate WOT and the stress your lines will see.

GL OP, if I can think of anything else later, I will post it.

Check to make sure you don't have any exhaust leaks at the turbos or downpipe. Just listen for a "tic-tic-tic" sound down by the turbos. That will throw off your AFR readings.

Also, if you are planning on tuning for 14psi make sure your ignition system is working really strong. It is very common to get breakup issues in the higher RPM's. You can put new plug wires which may help, but a sure fire fix would be a HKS Twin Power.

Oh and also get new plugs before the tune.

^^ Good advice.

I would recommend an HKS Twin Power also. Also, take a fresh set of plugs with you. Depending on how rich your car is running, how long the drive to the tuner is, & how long it takes them to tune it, you may need them.

Fresh plugs at least.

Pressure test for vacuum/boost leaks.

yes to plugs and wires,

and if its a serious day of tuning (4+ hours or so), I'd go in with fresh fluids
-Coolant
-Oil & filter
-full tank of premium gas

Then change your oil & filter after the tune.

And I'd also throw a fresh fuel filter on if yours has been on for a while.

Regarding gauges:
-Water Temp sensor
-Wideband
-Boost
-Dual EGT (can this be done on the stock twins manifold?, with a single turbo its very easy) - but this can help make the tune safer by balancing the temps in each rotor.
