What does this mean???
The RX-7 Im buying the car from sent me this email. We did not have a clue what all the numbers mean or what. Anyway, what do all these numbers refer to anyway?
QUOTE FROM EMAIL
"Hey whats up, here are the numbers from the car. The
"compression" is 7-3,7-2, and 7-3. The other numbers
(they said the front and rear rotors are vey close
together in compression #'s) are 181-283-381-482. The
"psi" is 93 and the "diff." is up to 21."

I have no idea what the second set of numbers mean but the first set looks good, depending on the exact testing conditions. You can get compression numbers in kg/cm^2 - they should be about 7 or above, or in psi - they should be 100 or above. More importantly is that the numbers are very close together and consistent from seal to seal and from rotor to rotor.

a real strong motor would show in the 8's or up. Like said earlier I also dont know what the 2nd set of #'s is. 7 is ok but it does show that there is some wear.
Maybe the 7's are for one rotor and the 2,3,2 is for the 2nd rotor showing that its a blown motor. That would be about right for a blow motor.
Those psi #'s and all that dont make any sense, I have no idea what that is.
Maybe the test was done wrong. Where was it done at, you could probably call and ask about it.
