What do you think of turboimport's FD brake kit
link:
http://turboimport.com/catalog/rx7.htm
its the very first thing on the page.
my oem brakes are starting to screech a little and leave a lot of dust, so i thought id start looking for an upgrade.
this is the best price ive seen. And ive ordered other things for turboimport, and they arrived quickly and worked fine. so my main question is what do you think of the brake kit, not the website itself.

IMO, those rotors are just bling.. The best price would be blanks.
I'm skeptical about the same size rotors making much difference when it comes to brake fade. I've had xdrilled/slotted rotors on many cars and found that OEM blanks worked just as well and had the same fade point at the track..
Also, since they are a wear item that I like to replace every two sets of pads, blanks just make more sense.
I also have those pads on the front of my 7 and the dust I get is ridiculous after just 2 days. The Porterfields on my MR2 are much better.

I have ultimates on my subaru. They dust like crazy but I love them. They aren't that loud, and stop hard cold or hot. I just put some HP+ on my FD and I don't like them nearly as much. I'll probably be putting ultimates on it as soon as the HP+ wear out.

i was planning on just getting the rotors, dimple and slot, and EBC green.
im interested in something with equal or better stopping power than stock, and a nice new look. you think these rotors are good quality?
and its sequitur .......and, yes, i had to look that up! lol

If you are just going for the look, brembo is probably great.. It is a waist of money IMO though. I just picked up a front BBK (pettit) which included 4-puck calipers, new LARGE rotors, new pads, brackets, all for $950 used.. i spend $75 more on the sslines and rebuild kits. I would never spend over $400 for stock performing stuff when that is almost half what I got used BBK can be had for. IMO: stock cheap stuff, or BBK. But I understand where you're coming from, I used to buy brake rotors for bling and paint the stock calipers.

Unless you're on a track getting your brakes really hot, rotors don't affect stopping feel or performance. Zinc plating helps with the rotor appearance but it will only slow the rusting, not prevent it.
The pads make all the difference when it comes to dust and bite.
The stainless brake lines help with pedal feel, but don't affect performance.
Now that I can see the webpage, this kit is basically pads, rotors, and lines. I would not buy it unless these are the exact rotors, pads, and brake lines I wanted and this was saving me shipping/time/money. I would research the pads in much more detail. Lines and rotors are just that - lines and rotors. If you've been using OEM pads there is probably no need to change the rotors unless you want to.

I just tested out my RB setup on the Tail of the Dragon, and was extremely impressed by their fade free performance.....another FD with a good driver, similar power level, and stock brakes wasn't able to keep up at all

thats completly unfair. and i take great offense to it, as i am the most rice hating person you'll ever meet! i dont have speakers or a/c for God's sakes! to the gallows with you!
but seriously. my brake pads are gone. i dont have a lot of money. and i thought these rotors would looke nice with new pads.............

I've tracked my car with both stock and brembo slotted rotors.
My pure seat of the pants impression was that stock actually worked better.

I got the rotors and Axxis/PBR Ultimate pads from them about a month ago. Maybe it's because my brakes were old, but I simply can't believe the improved braking of the car. Particularly noteworthy is consistant breaking whether cold, hot, etc. Seemed like a good price for what you got, but I'm not an expert. The brake dust has not been a problem at all (chrome stock wheels).

Good luck with your break search. I have had success with the ebay special on my FC. They were actually brembo stock drilled and slotted and cheap.
Oh yes, I also own a 2006 Civic. They make great DDs.
