Where to locate CD changer?

Hi, just installed my Alpine HU in the car this afternoon but not sure where to position the cd changer.

I've attatched a couple of pics of where I think would be a good location as it avoids water pouring in when you open the tailgate in pouring rain.

Any suggestions and pics of your installs would be very welcome.

First pic shows the location and the second shown what's beneath the carpet at that point, would it be ok to put screws directly into the metal in this location?

your cd changer can be mounted in the passenger bin behind the seats, so you don't have to get out of the car and open up the trunk just to change cd's

My car has the rear seats so no bins to put the changer, I was also considering mounting it on the back of the backrest for the rear seats, saves putting holes in the metalwork which I'm not keen to do.

Cheers for the replies, would love to see pics of what others have done.
