What do you think about this rex

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=&cardist=1111

What do you guys think about. I am going to have an rotarty engine shop check it out before I buy it. It has a new motor with only 12,000 miles on it. Does it sound like a good deal?

Don't buy an auto just to have an FD at a cheap price. You'll regret it.

Where did they get a "new" motor from? To my knowledge, rebuilt / remanufactured ones are the only things available, even from Mazda. Find out where the motor was rebuilt, then decide if you trust that mechanic. To me, it's all about the test drive. If it feels good, go for it.

Yeah, but I love autos... easy for everyday driving, and when you want to race just dron it in first and go.

I'ts not a bad price but being that it has a salvage title and a damn auto. tranny I would think twice beforeI spent all that $$$.

I suggest you don't rush and wait till you find something you won't regret.

As long as an auto is what you want, that's ok. Do the normal things like get a compression check before you put any money on the car.

Good luck!

There is no such thing as a "Grand" Touring package. You should try driving a 5 speed before deciding on an automatic.

Looks like a good deal, if the compresion check and what ever is checked out ok. I have a friend that bought an auto cheap, his first mod was a 5spd swap though he hated the auto part. Good luck though!

Did anyone notice it has a salvage title and it is an auto?

All salvage titles are not the same, understand why it was salvaged and who/how it was repaired. If the owner knows details and has pics then that is the best.

The gear ratios on automatics are what get me. When third gear feels like an overdrive then you have a problem of the fun factor. I fixed one that had a secondary turbo problem and drove it around quite a bit when it was at my house and just to warn you, they are fun, however they are not extraordanirly fun like the manuals.

If you do buy it think about going to a higher ratio.
