What do you think about oil cooler upgraded kit ?

Hi, I am wondering if I have to install a upgraded oil cooling system on my FD.

I have about 400 RWHP with a street ported engine.

I saw this :

http://www.rotorsportsracing.com/per...oilcoolers.htm

what do you think about this ?

Have someone already install such parts ?

Must I choose a serial or parallel system ?

To finish, do you know this seller ??? Is it serious ?

Great thanks

Do you run an oil temp gauge? If not, you might want to consider spending $100 on an oil temp gauge so you can properly determine if you NEED to go through that large expense.

You could also add the 2nd oil cooler from the R1 model if you don't have it already. That can be found used pretty inexpensively $50-300.

Rotorsports is a good company. they've been around for 20 years or so. They mostly do racing.

Hi mate,

I already have two oil coolers in front of my RX7 but I often running around 110 °C and more when I am driving hard.

I already saw 120 - 125°C on my oil temp gauge.

what is your oil temp ?

I just installed the Parallel system to my car that already already have the R-1 twin oil cooler setup, and I have temp gauge reading my R-1 twin oil cooler setup in the summer driving in temp of mid 80 degree, I saw my oil temp went to 240 the highest under normal cruising. In addition I have the 99 spec bumper which means I have no oil cooler duct, also on a another day with temp in mid 50-60 degree I saw the oil temp stay at constant 180 degree. Now if I let the car warm up or idle in the drive way it will stay around 225-230 if the temp outside is 70-80 degree. Now for the Parallel system I have not drieven the car yet so I can't comment on it, for now I have oly have it idle for1 hour in a insulated garage with temp reading 60 degree, the highest I saw it went wast 225 then the (mocal T-stat) open and drop it to below 180. Also there is alot of debate on this that it does not matter which setup you go with, I chose to do this because I want to find out on my own and compare it to others have in-series setup. Btw both of the new parallel oil coolers setup are 25 rows.
Hope this help in some ways.

Thanks Rx7aholic,

I think my oil temp sensor or gauge is not working well because I am always running around 250 - 300°F (when I pushing).

Is someone saw the difference between serial and parallel system.... is parallel system very better than serial one ?

And to finish, can I trust in Rotorsport as Gracer7-rx7 said ?

They seems to be very serious but I'm living oversea.

Time for oil coolers!

If you don't want to pay more for parallel, a good series kit should suit just fine. The key, however, is proper ducting to the nose of the car. This is a highly underrated mod... not only do you get cooler oil temps, you'll likely see lower and more stable coolant temps as a byproduct.
