I have bought an JDM FD and I was wondering if you can tell the model year of the car by looking at the VIN-number?
My VIN: FD3S-404184

Because the seller says it's an 97 but in the registration paper it says it's a 96.

 

could be 96 manufacture but registered as a 97

my FD is like that

it's built in 92 but it's a 93 model

 

September 96 build, delivery??

 

But it is registratet as a 96.
I think the seller just screwed me over.
Wouldn't really surprise me. have found some really strange things that the seller also forgot to mention.

my vin is fd3s-401xxx so judging by your vin i would think it would indeed be a 1997 model.

 

Google "Frameno".

It was built on 13th September 1996.

 

Did find the page but didn't get it to work.
But if it is build September 13, 1996. Should I put 96 or 97 in my registration papers?
