Florent, what are you trying to do? Your overall goals are what determine what you should buy for your car. However, I would say almost NEVER should you buy the S-AFC for an FD3S. It's a bandaid for a broken leg. The unit cannot adjust for enough extra fuel to really help the motor at all. The AVC-R is a boost controller, so depending on your current/future modifications, maybe you will need it. The Power FC is a fully tuneable computer. It gives you access to tune almost all variables of your motor. For example if your running a stock motor with modified intake, a downpipe, cat-back exhaust, and upgraded intercooler, you can tune the Power FC to safely get you the most power from your car while still running safe air-fuel ratios. It all depends on what your doing with the car. Post your modifications, and your goals for your car, the intended uses etc.

PowerFC all the way.
I think the S-AFC just modifies the MAP sensor signal to fool the computer into supplying more fuel by thinking you are running more boost than you really are. The problem with this approach is that you will run into the stock computer's fuel cut, so you can't run high boost. Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but that is my understanding of how it works.
The PowerFC also gets rid of the 3000 RPM hesitation if you have that and makes the car run much more smoothly in general.

Hi,
thanks for your answer!!
so my modifications are:
apexi intake
ss downpipe
apexi gt exhaust
after I want to buy a midpipe, maybe FMIC...
I think it s better to buy a power fc, but how can I tune it? what is the interface?
is it difficult to install it?
does it control the boost like a avc r?
If yes, i have to install a solenoide?
( excuse me if my english is not very good but I m french!! and rx7 in france are very rare, so nobody can help me in my country )
Thanks
Florent

The best way to tune the Power FC is through a tuner that has the Apex-i Power Xcel software. Most likely though you won't be able to find one, there are only 3 or so in the U.S. to date. Your second option, and more realistic option is to buy a datalogit from glen yuri in New Zealand. Go to the Power FC forum and read up on it and the tuning capabilities it has.
