What do you name your FD?

To me just an FD isn't fitting since the it has a mind and aura of it's own. I came to my conclusion by a few things. I hate when cars are named after a sex, a car is it's own entity and more of a myth, tale, fact or something historical... etc.

Two I wanted a name that was symbolic, powerfull and pertained to what the FD really is.

I came up with Sphinx - Named after and Egyptian myth, not quite a god but more of a keeper of knowledge. The car possess some of the rarest traits in a sports car and requires alot of knowledge to own one for a good period of time. The name isn't any sex reference. Third is the best and most fitting for it, In the legend of the sphinx one must solve the riddle of the sphinx, if right you live. If your wrong you will be devoured and death will come painfully slow.

Basically my analogy is this, the car is giant riddle when something goes wrong, if I guess wrong I will be served with financial death instantly.

Shoot out some good name's, please state why unless it's self explanatory by a pic lol.

I just remembered why I named my fd Lucy. I hate when people give japanese cars japanese names, especially like sakura (just puked in my mouth from typing it). I purposely chose the most girl next door name I could think of. The name Lucy reminds me of one of those paintings on the side of an old WW2 war bird.

That is actually my wifes name.... 2 Lucy's in the family would drive me insane....
I haven't named mine yet as the only names I think of start with "R" and most of them are common.
ie... Roxy,Raquel,Rachel......

I refer to it as "the RX" or "the FD" - I guess I haven't put much thought into it.....The previous owner in Japan called it Lindsay.

See what I mean Lucy's are all over America. Im sure other countries too, but that's not the point. My point is the name is un-asian. Nothing wrong with asian's or there names, I just hate the cliché of having a japanese car with the uber japanese name.

I was thinking of naming (and getting the plate) my FD a Valkyrie. In Norse ledgend it is a female figure who decideds who will live and who will die in battle.

I figure a 650hp FD can decided who wins or looses. When it is in a good mood and running well, I will win. When its being a typical rotary, I will loose.

Seems fitting enough????

Also the fd always seems to evoke an aura of power, presence and mystery ESP around Honda guys. The fd always seems to look like it's on it's haunches with it's raised front fenders (hence sphinx). For car with hidden eyes it sure seems to state alot.

I did not name mind but my wife did and she call it Christine, intresting cause when I try to drop my new engine last week with the help of one of my broher-in-law the engine will not line upandwe try for 1.5 hr, as soon he leave it took me alone 15 minute and slip right in like a glove, I guess Christine does suit her.

Funny that other people do this. It's big in my family to name our cars....so here's the list:

2D Saturn we had in college- "Teal Turd"

01' Boxster - "Precious"

87' 944 Turbo - "Jake" (from Sixteen Candles)

08' Cayman S - "Storm"

07' Handicap equipped Chrysler van - "Van Halen"

59' Morris Minor 1000 - "Murray"

And finally----

93' RX7 - "Hong Kong"
