for that money, i'd just get a nice B&M oil cooler. B&M is hands down the best oil/trans coolers in the market.

seriously, there are just some things you should NOT skimp on. When you upgrade your oil cooler, either do it right or don't do it at all. If for whatever reason that core leaks and you don't notice it, you can kiss your engine goodbye.

If it were going to have a leak big enough to cause instant engine failure, then it would leak right away and be obvious...

The only way to know for sure is to buy one and check it out...

I never said instant engine failure, and I never said it would leak as soon as you put it on. I've had a mocal core crack and leak everywhere.

Unless you are road racing, the stock oil cooler is fine.

i think your low oil light would give away a leak before any damage was acrued

There are far too many paranoid people on these threads. Your being too judgemental of an item you have absolutely no experience with. Name brand items don't mean they are the best. It just means they are more popular or well known. These oil coolers look to be perfectly fine. Pressure testing can easily be done while the car is sitting in the driveway with someone reving the engine. Oil pressure is going to build regardless if your vehicle is moving or stationary.

existanzrx7 if you decide to buy this cooler, it's very important that to also fab up the neccessary ducting to make sure the air goes through it, otherwise the change is pointless.

I hear you about brand name items just being more popular. And I understand what you're saying about putting all your money on a brand named item; however, the argument would be that because they are more popular you are also investing in a piece of mind in their reliability. Ok, so i know that's not always the case but an item is only as good as it is reliable.

I did check there OBX web site and they do make some nice parts and they also look like they are made of a good quality. But they make there stuff mainly for Hondas and I did see some things for the Wrx.

I'll stick with my name brand coolers, and keep the piece of mind thanks I think there is more to price then a name. No I don't have experiance with the OBX coolers. I'm not paranoid, just tired of people buying e-bay **** and then complaining when it turns out to be crap. Would you trust that oil cooler on your 20b?
