Arrow what to do with the space under aftermarket stereo?

well my stock CD player went out and teh radio is worthless out here. So I think I'll give in and get an aftermarke MP3 player. but what does everyone ues to fill the gap?
Is there a tray I can get for there?
should I just locate the headunit in the middle and use black plastic to fill the gap?
anyone have pictures of their setup? I want it to look as clean as possible. I think im going to get the new pioneer deh -p7400mp unit. It look real clean. the price seems right.

clean look is very important to me
so show me some pictures of yours

First off, the pioneer 7400 is an awsome choice. I got mine a week ago and love it. 2nd, to answer your question, the base models and r1/r2 models came with a little flip down door to cover that lower din. So prolly your best bet would be to goto a dealership, and see if they can order you one. Hope this helps, and I'll post some pic of my setup in a little while.

Later,
ZM

Yea you can still get that din box with the door on it.....if your willing to let the dealer stick it up your *** for about $75.

What a freak'n joke. I need to do something as well, I replaced the stereo with a Eclipse and just left the stock cd player sitting there not hooked up so I didnt have a big hole.

I'll do something with it one day but that about 100 items down on my priority list haha

Later,
STEPHEN

The blitz panel won't fit with some aftermarket head units, so be careful. I tried that at first, then ended up getting a custom piece built (just some cut plastic) to hold my turbo timer and boost gauge. I love the way it fits in, but I don't have my digital camara to show you any pics now.

I believe you can get a din panel with three guage holes from Saab for like $15 if Im not mistaken. I think it fits right in.

SAAB 3 gauge DIN panel. Around $14. Perfect fit, slap in some gauges.

Johnchabin: You can get the SAAB gauge holder from a SAAB dealership.

Just call them up and ask. Do a search on the forum for it, and there will be a part number that goes with it.

Cheers,

I bought one of the Mazda DIN pockets (used, $10) and stuck my AVC-R display in it (cutting required, but it turned out nice). See terrible pictures here (sorry, I suck at photography):

I have heard of some people using a Honda DIN pocket as well, and it was cheaper.

I went with the SAAB unit. I also have the HKS unit that the RX-7 Store sells for sale on my webpage too. The HKS unit is a much more substantial piece but it didn't quite fit with my stock head unit in the upper slot and I didn't want to trim it, so SAAB it was. The HKS is already modded to accept 52mm gauges; if you're interested, just click on my www icon and go to for sale.
