what to do with nipple of TB bypass mod

Hey guys, i have been removing a couple of throttle body coolant lines on many cars and i have either plugged the holes at the block and behind the alternator or just bypasses the line.

I would like to know if anyone has ever completly remove the nipple and welded the hole shut once and for all. I am tired of putting a bolt in a hose to block the nipple and i hate putting the line directly from the back to the front since it is in the way when you want to work with the injectors and the harness.

thanks

Yep, there are some old posts of people doing it. However, they were generally doing it while rebuilding the motor not necessarily while the motor was already assembled. Most people just plug up the nipple if the engine is already assembled.

yes you can bypass it at the rear plate and water pump, the only problem is that your cold start idle will be messed up

I have heard of people just drilling and tapping the rear plate while the engine was still in the car.

I wouldn’t do that think of all the metal shaving going in the engine? Bad idea only my two cents I would just bypass it.

I weld the hole in the water pump casting .The hole in the rear plate gets threaded and pipe plug if the motor is together . Plugged and brazed if the motor is apart .

When I tap a built motor the water is to the hole so a chip will float, I put wheel bearing grease on the tap to hold the chips .Go in a turn or two and remove the tap ,clean the chips and regrease and go another turn or two ,ect.ect . Never a problem . If a chip did drop , tweesers are ready to pick it out .
