what can cause limp mode?

what ecu codes can make the ECU go into limp mode? i had a MOP code (26) and replaced it and got rid of the code, but the ecu is still in limp mode.

i have the current codes: 5 (knock sensor, 42 (turbo pre control), 43 (wastegate control) ...

I think the OMP codes can cause your car to go into limp mode. If you've fixed it, you should be able to reset the ECU to get out of it No idea if the knock sensor will keep you in limp mode...

A faulty knock sensor will definitely kick in the limp home mode.

my ex- girl caused me to go into limp mode...lol!

but on the serious side, my faulty OMP caused it. even after i had that fix i kept getting a code 3? but i changed my ecu and bam! problem fixed.

Maybe I'm wrong. Did you fully reset the ecu once you addressed the OMP problem?

The knock sensor will not put the ecu into "limp" mode, but it does retard the timing to a set point. The only thing that you will noitce is a slight lack power, the car will run fine other wise.

Take a look at the "Service Points" in the FSM

Knock sensor code can put the car into limp mode from my experience. That and OMP, for whatever reason those are the only 2.

Fool with the knock sensor connection/wire and see if that helps. However a knock sensor code will not necessarily give you limp mode but a disconnected or bad wire will which is usually what fails on the sensor anyway.

Oh and if you need good knock sensor let me know

i got a new MOP from a buddy for free.

as for the "limp mode" it wasnt limp mode -i had the leading CAS wires backwards so the ecu was getting the wrong ignition signal (making a rev limiter around 3200) so i swapped the wires and it has been running perfectly.

but yes, a bad MOP will cause the standard limp mode.
