WELL...compression is in....

owned the car for a month...bought it sight-unseen from a member on the board who had it for 4 years....25k on the motor....

Rear rotor: 90-90-90
Front rotor: 45-45-90

That probably accounts for my issues....

Damn that sucks. Did he mention anything when he sold you the car? Were you having these issues ever since you bought it?

He said it was checked out by rotary reliability...however, they didn't do a compression test. It was never running "perfect" when I got it, but it is worse now..

I think I read a thread on here sometime back regarding someones purchase of an FD and they also mentioned that this shop "checked" out the car for the owner. He ended up purchasing a blown engine FD as well. I'm starting to think rotary reliability isn't as "reliable" as they claim.

Yes, theoretically, I guess I should get some financial compensation...but I bought it as is. I have no one to blame.

Where exactly is this "Rotary Reliability" shop, and who was the previous owner? This is the sort of thing these forums should keep tabs on.

Rotary Reliability and Racing is in Anaheim california. They are a very well known shop, and just recently was recognized in sport compact car for building some monster FD. Luis and Nick are the ones I have talked to. Luis apparently built mine and is the guy that built the monster in the magazine. I think the site is www.rotaryracing.com

Well, if Rotary Reliability didn't say the compression was good, they're not to be blamed. It would be the seller. But it's an after the fact thing. The seller may have been unaware. It happened to me right after I bought my FD. Not the seller's fault, but mine for not being educated on the car.

My Mazda Reman lasted me like 18k and 3 years....pending a compression test, but it seems obviously blown since my cat melted and it over-boosted for my stock ECU.
Good luck with the rebuild, FDs are amazing cars when you get them running.

It says he sold the Supra in his sig. Maybe he still has pics though. Unless the 'you' wasn't a typo and you wanted a pic of Supra himself?

BTW, 'stouge' is spelled wrong. It's "Stooge", as in the joke is on the stooge. However, I do like Arizona teas quite a bit!
