Weird Oil Leak...

I'll try to make it as simple as possible ( owning an FD that is impossible...lol )

Car is apparently burning oil, after boost and upon deceleration I get a huge cloud of smoke. Smoke lasts about 1 solid minute at idle then subsides.

Interesting findings. I emptied about 2 qts of oil today and drove the car. No smoking at all and boosted beautifully, but after 10 minutes car overheated rapidly. Obviously no oil in car. Ok, so i get home and low and behold no oil on the dipstick. i look under the car...small splashes of oil on the ground(fresh oil).

So apparently the car smokes when there is oil in it, and there is still a mystery oil leak somewhere under the car.

Pulled the intakes off the turbo's and NO oil.
Took the plate off the bell housing to look at the flywheel and NO oil.
Turbo's were looking clean from the outside but that doesnt tell the story of what the turbo outlets are doing.

Any suggestions?

Never ever remove 2 quarts of oil and drive the car again, never again. You have a PCV issue. Remove the pcv valve, cap it off on the manifold and either install a catch tank or run just one line to the plastic primary intake elbow nipple.

Hopefully you wont have any bearing failure issues in the near future.

its really hard for us to speculate were the leak may be coming from you will just need to try to get under the car and watch for the leak and then follow it to the source hopefully. Sorry about the problems hope you get it all figured out.

OK so back to square one and looking at previous under-the-hood pics...idiot me caped off the breather hole ( lower oil filler nipple ) that was going to the stock primary intake elbow... Took off the cap and took the Batmobile out on the strip and low and behold no smoking whatsoever and a steady 7lbs... there was a little bit but it seems that was bleed off from whatever was caked up in the system... I need to be shot for that dumb one.

Oh and adding more 20w50 has seemingly cooled the motor and re lubricated the internals... +1

damn those Wolverines...get it together guys...

Glad you got it fixed, for anyone reading this thread in the future. When you have smoke after boost and during decel it is almost 90% of the time relate to a PCV issue as it was in this thread. This will hopefully save a lot of people time in the future when they find this thread.
