Question Weird beeping noise?

I got weird beeping noise in my FD. It beeps 5 times and stop for 1 second, then again for a total of 25 times. Five beeps each. Can someone tell me what is that beep? Is it a warning beep?

Additional Information:

- Removed airbag and installed racing steering wheel.
- Removed airbag light behind dash.

Anyone experienced this before after removing it? I cannot remember if I have those beeps before I removed the airbag. That is what confusing me right now.

The airbag control unit will beep when the airbag light goes out

Definitely the airbag. I pulled my airbag light because it was blinking and driving me nuts. Then it started beeping, exactly as you described, instead.

Just put the bulb back in, and cover it with some black tape if you don't wanna see it blink.

Does it beep when the light goes out or when you remove the bulb?

If it's when you remove the bulb then just throw a burned bulb in it's place. I don't know what size bulb it is but maybe you could get a black light bulb that size from like autozone.

No, it beeps with a burned out bulb too (that's kind of the purpose of the beep.. to warn you that you have a burnt out bulb)

There are other ways to perminantly disable that system, but the simple way would be as described: cover the bulb in tape, and put it back in.

why can't you just trick the system into thinking the airbag is still there by using some metal wire or something to touch the harness clip prongs or whatever? Or will that even work? That's how we tricked our friends denali's air ride suspension into lowering it without refilling, we just used wire or something to trick it into thinking it was plugged in and still full.

If you remove the airbag light from the dash, the ECU responds by giving the beeps as described. You can either put the bulb back in and deal with the flashing or deal with the beeping for a short amount of time.

Replace the light with a resistor. It's 2W so 24ohms should do the trick.

Or depending on whether you have dual bags or not, remove the airbag unit, it's just under the dash.

the airbag control unit is behind the stereo and stuff. all you gotta do is get back there and disconnect it all. someone has directions as to exactly what it is on their website, but i can't remember which one right now. i still have to get around to doing that on mine
