Weight Questions

So I have a 3rd gen RX7. I'm currently in the middle of Iraq so I can't do this myself. But I was curious if anyone knew the weight of the following parts?

Hood
Door
Hatch

I want to know full weight with glass. If anyone has this information it would be greatly appreciated.

i have just taken off my hood and hatch, but never weighed them. if i could guess a weight by feel, i would say:

hatch: 15lbs-20lbs
hood: 7lbs-10lbs

i will do a quick search for ya, but i doubt i will find anything besides curb weight of the entire fd..

That rear hatch was that with the rear glass still in it, or removed?

if your looking at replacing these parts with the carbon ones.. you will save weight but not as much as youd like.. the fd parts are pretty darn light from the gitgo!

bull **** the hatch has got to weigh at least 75lbs or more with glass. Hood probably about 20-25 lbs. Doors I would say about 50lbs or more.

no way the hood is 25 lbs..

I can loop one finger around the latch loop, and i can dead lift it straight up using my shoulder/arm muscles..

the hood is featherweight

since i love you guys so much i just weighed my stock hood with all plastics / spray nozzle / spray hoses / heat insulation and it is 19lbs. maybe 3-5 ounces more.

the hatch with glass has to be at least 45-50lbs is my guess.

i am 125lbs, 5"10, and not a very strong guy. and pulled it out of a minivan and carried it about 50ft with no problem except it being so bulky. i am not saying i was right on with the weight, but i am sure its rather close.

Thanks for the information people. Sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread. So my FD's currently lost about 113lbs, YAY! that 113lbs makes up for my fatass LMAO, it sucks when you're 6'1" and 215lbs. Damn I need to go on a diet.

Info from Mazdaspeed Motorsport

Weight of Windshield and Rear Hatch Window
Front windshield: 23.625lbs.
Rear window: 19.031lbs.

Thus a big savings would be to go to a lexan rear window:

WINDOW, REAR (1/8") 1 ANY RX-7 1993-95 $420.75
IMSA GTU/GTS-2. Notes: 93-95 RX-7 (UN-TRIMMMED)
