Warm Start Problems..
One problem after another..
anyways, once the car is warmed up it becomes really hard to start. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries to start and idles ruff for a couple of minutes after the hard start.
I searched for this in the forms and came up with tons of posts but no answers. I dont think its a motor problem though. It dosent smoke and isnt burning coolant.
wierd..

Having trouble hot starting is a CLASSIC symptom of a rotary engine that is losing compression. I know three people, including myself who had this problem right before there engine blew. Have your compression checked.

dosent that suck..
I hope its not my motor. It was rebuilt 30k back, been treated great ever since. Oh well, I just put it up for sale anyways. This dying rotary is soon to be someone elses problem..
btw.. compression results
front rotor = 6.5
back rotor = 7.0

Yeah, I don't want to be pessimistic but I went through the same thing. After warm, if I turned the car off and tried to start it, it would crank and crank and not even try to fire. If I floored it and cranked for a few seconds it would slowly come to life, sputter, clear out and then run again. Don't remember seeing smoke as a result of that. Acted just like it was flooded. Soon there was coolant all over the right front fender and the coolant light came on....
Bright side is one can of K&W block seal will buy you a LOT of time!!!

You will know if you engine is leaking coolant into the engine. You will see lots of white smoke and you car will overheat, no mater what you do to it. When was the last time you changed you fuel filter. I had the same problem, once in a while when it was hot the car would crank a long time. But it would always start on the first try. After i replaced the fuel filter, hot starts were back to normal. This might not be your problem but its worth a try if you havent changed you filter in a while. And plugs would be a good idea also if its been a while.

The block seal is a thick rust looking stuff that you add to your coolant. But you have to TOTALLY get rid of all the antifreeze first, which is a bit of a pain. Some brands use copper to do the sealing, but K&W uses something else that isn't supposed to stop any passeges up. Just $7/can and it fixed my problem. Do a search for "block seal" or "block weld" and you'll find plenty of lengthy recent discussions about it.
For the record, my engine would smoke on cold mornings, but it wouldn't smoke at all on the hot starts. It just didn't want to start when warm. If you're not getting the coolant buzzer and not having to add any, that's probably not your problem.

im going to try the fuel filter.. I also just put in a can of B&G 44k so hopefully that will help. Also, even though my compression in the front rotor is low, I looked through the service records and it was the same 1 year ago. Maybe I dont have a blown motor!!
