Anybody know what the boost cut is supposed to be on a series 8 computer?

My car sounds like its doing exactly what you guys have described above. Its a series 7 RB bathurst, but i have swapped out the factory computer for a series 8 one. Its also got a 3" downpipe, followed by 2.5" all the way to the rear muffler - no cat, no resonator etc. Im basically having to drive it like a nana, as sustained full throttle will take me to 1.3 bar before boost cut comes in!!!

I still have the cat section which i can put back on, should this help in bringing down my boost levels? Might look at porting the wastegate as well. A PFC is on the cards, just not for a bit longer, till the funds are available.

put your cat back. it should help but without a BC the boost will still be higher than stock.

Thumbs up

Hi there from another fellow New Zealander!
Iv got a series 7, with apexi intakes and 3" exhaust going to 4" with no muffler on stock ECU, i dont have any problems.
Series 7 + ECU's are 16bit vs the older 8bit versions so should be a little safter with mods, be careful though and make sure you have a boost guauge so you know whats happening. (the series 8 stock boost gauge is crappy, get a proper one!)
Im in auckland with a white type RS, with full kit and black roof honk if ya see me!
( i always honk / wave at other 7's)
