  2. street ports
  3. 3" down pipe
  4. 3"mid pipe
  5. 3" HKS hi power
  6. stock injectors
  7. pfc
  8. blitz bov

oh yea.... almost forgot. does any one know a good place to get my car dyno or rx7's specialist in so cal?

A boost controller might help since you are running a midpipe, even just a manual one.

good to know that it will make that much power because if not i was going to get an intercooler and intake system. so i guess it's not necessary to get them right?

is it a recommendation to crank up the boost? or is it not safe to do it because it's a stock twin. if it is safe, how much more can i boost it up to (safely)?

Boost controller will do nothing for boostcreep caused by a midpipe.

It's not necessary, but with an intake and intercooler you'll make more power. If you want to keep the stock intake box adam c makes a good intake, search for "cheap bastard intake." Another alternative would be to just get aluminum intake piping and K&N intake filters. Of course if you turn up the boost you'll make more power. With the stock injectors it's safe to turn the boost up to 12-13 psi. But then you'll probably want to get a larger intercooler to keep the intake temperatures down.

i seriously think you can get really close to 300rwhp without the midpipe too. the boost controller won't do any good to control the probably boost creap you'll get with a mid pipe, you'll have to have the wastegate ported if you really want to be "safe". don't get me wrong, i suggest getting a boost controller too, but its not the cure all that some people think it can be. using the PFC and having the car properly tuned, you can get it up to around 12-13psi before you've reached max injector duty cycle. from what i've read and been told, you don't want to go beyond 80% duty cycle, just to have some cushon, but if you're hell-bent on max power, you could get just a bit more if you went to like 90-95%, but you sould talk to a RX specialist about this.

the BOV is a waste of money. the stock one is plenty for what you'll be putting through. just try venting it to the atmosphere and see if you like the sound before you spend cash on a blingy little wistle.

*edit: looks like a few others said what i did while i was typing, but i'll leave it because i still stand behind it.

I'd either put 850s in the primary rail, 1300s in the secondaries, or both. Making 300whp, your injector duty cycles are going to be pretty high on the stockers.

racing beat cat back
pfc
stock cat
stock fuel system
stock twins
stock ports
tuned by Steve Kan 300whp 270tq =D

Even though it varies from motor to motor.. i dont think you'll have a problem hitting 300 with your mods.. If i were you, i'd wait for the next time Steve comes to tune in So Cal! Good luck!!

Just my opinion, but I would stick with bone stock boost until you have fuel mods...at least larger secondaries...the stock twin turbos are fine to make more, but you need better than stock fuel delivery first....and spend good money on dyno tuning always...

and the numbers that pettit gives are 304 without the exhaust mods

Pettit Engine + TKT Kit + Stock ECU : 304.62 rwhp

get the ic, 1300 cc injectors, intake, and twin power.

@ 15psi u will make 360rwhp

@ 17-18psi u will make 380-400.

u can listen to the other jackasses if u want. but they are slow and dont make power. 15psi is fine for daily use. i would save the higher setting for track days and the occassional encounter with a z06. just make sure u get a good tune.

15 psi is not ok for a daily driver...14-15psi is where you get real problems especially with the stock twins. they wont last long.

you sound like my friend with his talon(18psi no support mods junkie)

I agree, I've *heard* the same thing.

I'm running 14-15 psi right now. No problems yet, but I don't really boost it a lot, either...

thanks guys for the info. and i'll let you guys know how much power i get w/ how much boost.

Steve Kan is a tuner out of Texas that travels around the country and tunes RX-7s.

I believe Bryan at BnR can port the wastegate door for you, utilizing a larger "flapper door" to release more flow.
